Remark Against Democracy - What about the Intent?

Mulayam's remark on Maya against democracy: Advani http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Mulayams-remark-on-Maya-against-democracy-Advani/articleshow/4499416.cms This is follow on to my previous post. Well, I am relieved that somebody at least bothered to make a comment against what Mulayam Singh has said. While Advani's intentions are not to protect democracy, Mulayam Singh is not with the NDA alliance, it is another arrow in the media war between the two sides. He should have atleast commented on how the intent itself is against democracy. Indian constitution is about "of the people, by the people, for the people". This does not sound like that at all.

Mulayam Singh-ji, "Saat Phere" and UP Politics

Mulayam: any group that ousts Mayawati will get SP support http://www.hindu.com/2009/05/08/stories/2009050857460100.htm Mulayam Singh-ji is well versed in the art of Indian politics, it is surprising to see him reveal himself so prematurely. We are absolutely sure that Mulayam Singh has no noble intentions in being a politician other than getting to power, lining his own purse and creating an ongoing business for his sweet son to "manage". Mulayam-ji is not unique in this, every politician is doing exactly that. But why say it out loud. It is a bit like the young groom who is discussing his intentions during the wedding night when he is yet to undertake the "saat phere" with his new bride.

Indian Elections

This is a reaction to the manner in which our politicians are shooting their respective mouths off in the grab-all "tamasha" called Elections. In this democracy, I am certain that we have no choice. This blog is my reaction to what is going on. Hope the readers sit up and notice what our politicians are doing...and decide to do something about it. The best thing for each of the reader to do would be get involved in governance (not politics) at their level, even on a part time basis, issue by issue. All we have to do is to stand up and ask a question, question will lead to a question and soon politicians will soon realise that their countrymen are no longer fools to listen to any crap that they dish out. To make my day and my first post on this interesting, DMK's Karunanidhi shot his mouth off: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India/Karunanidhi-joins-Eelam-bandwagon/articleshow/4494279.cms Can anybody imagine what we would say if anybody said that Kashmir or any of the p...
